TRACEY EMIN - Palazzo Strozzi, Florence
MARCH 2025

Palazzo Strozzi, Florence, presents Tracey Emin’s Sex and Solitude, the first major institutional exhibition in Italy dedicated to one of the most celebrated contemporary artists. The exhibition of over sixty works includes paintings, drawings, film, photography, embroidery, appliqué, sculptures, and neon installations. Through her honest and autobiographical expression, Emin focuses on themes of the body and figuration across all mediums. In doing so, she situates herself within a distinct lineage in art history, creating a resonance that both contrasts with and converges upon Florence’s Renaissance heritage.

TRACEY EMIN - Royal Academy of Arts, London UK
MAY 2021

Tracy Emin/Edvard Munch, “The Loneliness of the Soul”: For this exhibition at the Royal Academy, Emin chose more than 25 of her own works to sit alongside a selection of oils and watercolours drawn from Norwegian expressionist Edvard Munch’s collection and archives. Munch rose to prominence at the end of the 19th century and is most famous for his work ‘The Scream’. Seeing the works of the two artists in such close proximity to one another reveal just how much inspiration Emin took from Munch, and provided much insight into the artistic formation of the British artist.
