MASS MoCA presents  for the first time as a complete ensemble a suite of six Francesco Clemente's painted canvas tents. Created over the course of three years from 2012 through 2014, in collaboration with a community of artisans in Rajasthan, India, the large 2-pole structures transform MASS MoCA into a kind of tent village, inhabited by painted human figures and emblematic symbols and signs both obvious and arcane.

Galleria Lorcan O’Neill  is pleased to announce the opening of Francesco Clemente’s exhibition Frontiera di Immagini at Palazzo Sant’Elia, Palermo. Curated by Achille Bonito Oliva, this solo exhibition presents, for the first time in Sicily, the work of one of the most internationally esteemed Italian artists. The show, installed in the eighteenth century rooms of the Palazzo Sant'Elia, brings together sixty works created from the mid-1980’s to the present, and includes paintings, watercolours, and pastels. (www.francescoclementepalermo.it)

Francesco Clemente is the protagonist at the Uffizi in Florence with a show of 78 works on paper based on the images of the Tarots and a series of 12 oil paintings of the artists as each of the Twelve Apostoles. The show is open until November 6 2011. 
FRANCESCO CLEMENTE: PALIMPSEST

Schirn Kunsthalle, Frankfurt
This exhibition, curated by Pamela Kort, is the first comprehensive showing of his paintings and drawings in Germany in more than a quarter century. It brings together more than forty works made between 1978 and 2011. Taking as its starting point Clemente's early works on paper, the show also includes large format paintings and more recent monumental watercolors.
