RACHEL WHITEREAD: GOVERNORS ISLAND
JULY 2016

Rachel Whiteread's new public sculpture "Cabin" will open to the public on July 19. The work located on Discovery Hill, one of the four Hills on Governors Island, New York, continues the artist's interest in producing evocative sculptures of negative spaces. In this case, Whiteread has created a concrete cast of a wooden shed, a place suggestive of retreat and introspection. “I was really thinking about Thoreau and the American Romantics, as well as the opposite of that – the grimmer, darker underbelly of America and the idea that some lonely person might live in a different way,” she says.

RICHARD LONG: COLD STONES
MAY 2016

Centro de Arte Contemporáneo de Málaga, Spain presents Cold Stones, a new exhibition by British artist Richard Long. The exhibition brings together a selection of sculptures, driftwood drawings, photographs and text works dating from 1967 to the present day. It also includes new works created specifically for the exhibition: a sculpture made of granite stones and marble from the Macael quarries and a large wall work made by applying mud to the wall with the artist's hands.

ANSELM KIEFER: I SETTE PALAZZI CELESTI 2004-2015
SEPTEMBER 2015

HangarBicocca unveils the new installation by Anselm Kiefer: the new display, curated by Vicente Todolí, is an expansion of The Seven Heavenly Palaces, the permanent work conceived for the opening of HangarBicocca in 2004. Together with the seven “towers” – now open for the public to walk through – five large-format paintings, made between 2009 and 2013 but never shown until now, will form a single installation entitled The Seven Heavenly Palaces 2004-2015.
