EDDIE PEAKE: PERFORMA 13

Eddie Peake makes his New York debut with a performance at the Swiss Institute on Wooster Street. The work, with ten performers, has been commissioned by Performa, the biennal of performance art (13.performa-arts.org). Since his first exhibition at Galleria Lorcan O’Neill in Rome in 2009, Peake has developed a rich vocabulary which includes painting, photography, performance, video, sculpture and installation. This new piece, Endymion,builds on a work he made for the opening of the Tanks at Tate Modern during the Olympics last year.

Galleria Lorcan O’Neill  is pleased to announce the opening of Francesco Clemente’s exhibition Frontiera di Immagini at Palazzo Sant’Elia, Palermo. Curated by Achille Bonito Oliva, this solo exhibition presents, for the first time in Sicily, the work of one of the most internationally esteemed Italian artists. The show, installed in the eighteenth century rooms of the Palazzo Sant'Elia, brings together sixty works created from the mid-1980’s to the present, and includes paintings, watercolours, and pastels. (www.francescoclementepalermo.it)

Every night in February, at the stroke of 11:57, Tracey Emin will restore neon and romance to Times Square. On more than 40 screens large and small, for a span of three minutes, her six messages of love will spell themselves out, digitally animated to appear as if being written by a giant unseen hand.
