A book presentation and display of photographs by Renate Graf and a special performance by Emiliano Maggi on the opening day.

Richard Long presents a solo exhibition of works made in southern Africa over the last 50 years. His fascination with land and walking translates, in this exhibition, into large-scale installations made using rocks recovered from the Cradle of Humankind in Gauteng, wall-text interventions and photographs. The exhibition is open from 9 November 2011 to 10 April 2012.

The centre and inspiration for this exhibition is the eponymous work Berlin Circle by Richard Long. The circle of stone, twelve metres in diameter, laid out on the floor was first unveiled and installed by the artist for the opening of the Hamburger Bahnhof in 1996. It serves as the thematic focal point of today's show.
