PIETRO RUFFO: 3rd Colombo Art Biennale

The Colombo's Art Biennale, Sri Lanka's leading international festival of contemporary art, announces is third edition with Making History. The title is a provocation exploring the artistic adventure of making history. It enquires into the contemporary aesthetic experience, from historical, present and future points of view, to reveal a possible reality of making history as part of an art historical trajectory. Artists for CAB 2014 include many of Sri Lanka's most recognized established and emerging artists, as well as artists from China, USA, Britain, Italy, Austria, Scotland, France, Sweden, India, Bangladesh, Nepal, Qatar and Iran.
 
RACHEL WHITEREAD. STUDY FOR ROOM

Rachel Whiteread, one of the leading international artists of her generation (awarded the Turner Prize in 1993 and represented Britain at the Veniec Biennale in 1997), will show in Bologna a group of works ranging from 1991 to 2013 that share the common vision of daily objects and intimate spaces in Giorgio Morandi's collection at MAMbo Museum. Her works dialogue with a "still life" of Giorgio Morandi from 1956.
 
TRACEY EMIN: ANGEL WITHOUT YOU

The Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA), North Miami, opens tonight the first American museum exhibition dedicated to the acclaimed British artist Tracey Emin. This is the first-ever exhibition to focus on Emin's works in neon, a crucial aspect of the artist's practice that began with her iconic The Tracey Emin Museum, (1995), which opens the show. The exhibition explores how Emin's neons have played an essential role in the development of her work, marking a shift from her early diaristic and confessional style to a more cryptic and open-ended form of expression.

Artissima is the contemporary art fair in Turin in the Oval at the Lingotto. The fair is open from Wendesday 2 November to Sunday 6 November. The gallery is located at the booth 7 in the Pink corridor.
 
EDDIE PEAKE: PERFORMA 13

Swiss Institute, New York
Eddie Peake makes his New York debut with a performance at the Swiss Institute on Wooster Street. The work, with ten performers, has been commissioned by Performa, the biennal of performance art (13.performa-arts.org). Since his first exhibition at Galleria Lorcan O’Neill in Rome in 2009, Peake has developed a rich vocabulary which includes painting, photography, performance, video, sculpture and installation. This new piece, Endymion,builds on a work he made for the opening of the Tanks at Tate Modern during the Olympics last year.
